Seminar: Segmentation of teeth in panoramic X-ray OPG images

Copmuter Science department recently held a seminar titled “Segmentation of Teeth in Panoramic X-Ray (OPG) Images.” The event took place on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the E-Auditorium Hall, located in the Engineering Building on the KUST campus.

Describe the role of Image processing techniques in improving the diagnosis of screening embedded teeth, bone abnormalities, cysts, tumors, infections, fractures, problems in the temporomandibular regions.

Led by Assistant Prof. Dr. Osman Sharif, Chairperson of the Computer Science Department, the seminar focused on advanced image processing techniques for accurately segmenting individual teeth from panoramic X-ray images. Participants gained valuable insights into the applications of dental imaging in clinical settings.

The event successfully brought together faculty and students interested in the intersection of computer science and healthcare, fostering an engaging discussion on this important topic.
